A white roof that helps the panels

Troegs Brewery is a family-owned brewery in Hershey that set out to cut its carbon footprint.

The project put a new white roof under 1,628 panels. The panels are bifacial: they make power from both sides. Sunlight reflects off the white roof onto their backs, which improves their performance. The array offsets 16% of the brewery's yearly electricity.

The contract: construction and purchase

SRE built Troegs Brewery's array, and the property owner bought it and owns it. It's one of the three ways SRE sets up a project, built around each client's tax position.
