Beside the sewer plant, and designed for two more accounts

The array sits beside the borough's sewer plant. It was designed to offset 100% of the electricity the borough's sewer authority uses. Through virtual net metering, a billing arrangement with the grid, it was also designed to offset two other accounts off the site.

Millheim Borough is in Centre County, Pennsylvania. It received a Sustainability Lodestar Award for the Greater State College area.

The contract: a power purchase agreement (PPA)

The Millheim Borough array was built under a power purchase agreement. SRE sets up each project one of three ways: owning it outright, a power service agreement or a power purchase agreement. Each is built around the client's tax position.
