Solar power for a wastewater plant

The University Area Joint Authority serves 50,000 customers in the State College area. Its 2,600 kW ground array offsets power used by the authority's wastewater treatment plant.

The array is expected to meet about 25% of the energy the authority's facilities use.

The contract: a power purchase agreement (PPA)

This array runs under a 28-year power purchase agreement (PPA). It's one of the three ways SRE sets up a project, built around each client's tax position.
