What was built at Rhode Island Row

Rhode Island Row is one of the largest solar builds in Washington, D.C. It includes the city's second-largest solar parking garage.

The 1,016 kW array puts canopies over both of the site's parking garages, plus panels on its roofs. It was completed in fall 2020 and set up as community solar through the D.C. Sustainable Energy Utility's grant program.

The contract: community solar

Rhode Island Row was set up as community solar through the D.C. Sustainable Energy Utility's grant program. SRE also sets up projects three other ways, each built around the client's tax position. They are direct ownership, a power service agreement (PSA) and a power purchase agreement (PPA).
